Full Coverage Motorcycle Insurance

Full coverage motorcycle insurance is similar to full coverage car insurance where drivers are covered for almost every situation. Full coverage motorcycle insurance provides the following:

  • Repairs to your motorcycle to restore it back to its original condition
  • Replacement of you motorbike should it be declared non-repairable
  • If you are at fault, the insurer will repair or replace property of the third party
  • Transportation expenses while your motorcycle is being repaired
  • Salvage fees

Third Party Motorcycle Insurance

Similar to third party car insurance, Motorcycle owners are only covered for the damage they cause to a third party.  The cost to replace or repair your motorbike would not be covered.

Third Party, Fire & Theft Motorcycle Insurance

Check List

Every NZ insurance company has slightly different policies.  It is important that you check and understand your policy to ensure that it covers all your needs.

When purchasing your motorcycle insurance the motorbike insurance company will need the following information:

  • The details of the people who will be covered under the motorcycle insurance policy.
  • Details of your motorbike: Including engine size, model, make, and year
  • The type of insurance coverage you want to purchase: Full or third party motorcycle coverage
  • Where your motorcycle is kept when not in use: Garage, car port, or roadside
  • How often you ride your motorbike; which includes approximate yearly mileage
  • Prior accident history, including accidents involving a motorcycle, car, or truck. The motorcycle insurance company will also require specific details such as who was at fault, who was the insurance provider, whether a claim was paid, and the amount of the claim.
